After a trip to Costco, we needed a quick bite on our way home. I found Giovanni's on Yelp and we decided to give it a try for a sandwich. This deli is definitely a diamond in the rough. All the young guys working were really sweet and friendly and especially polite to customers. I found that really endearing. When we were deciding on sandwiches, one of the sandwich makers was talking about how delicious their chicken cutlets were, and even brought us out a sample unprompted. I got a chicken cutlet with mozz and balsamic, and my husband got a chicken Parmesan sub. $26 for two huge sandwiches the size of my forearm, definitely a good value. I happened to ask about if they make eggplant cutlets. They said they make eggplant parm on Fridays that always sells out - so if you want an eggplant cutlet sub, Friday is your day. They also make their own mozz in house which was great texturally. For sure the best sandwiches in Bayonne!

Good service! They will put a sticker on your car to remind you next service date! Also they will give you a free informal inspection. No hidden fee.

My favorite breakfast for miles is made here. Perfect egg, bacon ... home fries, on a roll or croissant... it's therapy for me. When i visit family in the neighborhood i want nothing more than breakfast from this deli. The burgers and sandwiches are good too According to family. I try keep the carbs under control so I only splurge 1x week. But MAN! next time i may have to forget carbs and dig in... not to mention Service is good. It's not a big spot but those are usually the best. Try it... you'll like it

Best Italian sandwich anywhere is Jersey Fresh mozzarella the guy finished making and put right on my sandwich , bread was great. the people behind the counter too

I stopped by a couple of weeks ago. They made me a sandwich that was incredibly good! It took me a few hours to finish it- it was very filling! The owner gave me a sample of their freshly made mutz- which was very good! It's a small store, not enough room to dine in but they're really busy so it would be impossible. Aside from the fantastic sandwich the banter of the crew was very Jersey/New York Italian style it's hard to forget those guys! If you're in Bayonne you gotta stop by!

The best sandwich I have ever had! Staff is awesome too! I make my husband get this sandwich anytime we are in Bayonne you can't beat the freshness! From the bread to the homemade mozzarella it's all amazing!

Such an amazing establishment, the owner was such a great guy! We had a couple of hours before our flight back to LA out of Newark airport, looking for some lunch and decided to try some real jersey subs and Giovanni's did not disappoint! The mozzarella is soooo good, totally wish there could be a place like this in LA. You couldn't find this, people oriented, friendly, neighborhood kind of joint. Even the other customers were helpful suggesting places we could go for a short sightseeing trip. The owner was so funny he even did a fun magic trick and cheered us up a lot. Not to mention he threw in a freebie so we could try both of the yummy potato and macaroni salads! If we ever in Jersey again, we'll definitely be back What we ate: Mozzarella, balsamic vinegar, the breaded chicken with mozzarella sandwiches, potato salad, mac salad

This spot is yum! The sandwiches are great real jersey subs. Bread fresh. Sandwiches are stuffed and full, so worth the price. They have a nice hot selection too. Guys who work there are awesome and keep the lines moving.
